The Cow Nerd: Kathryn Bosley

On this episode, we talk with Kathryn Bosley about her experience growing up working and showing in the dairy industry. Kathryn advocates for the dairy industry on her social media pages as The Cow Nerd and encourages people to focus on what they are most passionate about. She is currently a graduate student and research assistant at the University of Minnesota focusing her research on milk fatty acids and genetics. After graduating, Kathryn hopes to continue on in education to get her Ph.D. and eventually become a professor of dairy science. Check out the Cow Nerd Instagram Page!

A Conversation with Dr. Ashley Marshall

Join us for a great conversation with Dr. Ashley Marshall, a professor of dairy science at SUNY Morrisville in Central New York. We dive into Dr. Marshall's experiences and how she gained her passion for the dairy industry and teaching. As a professor Dr. Marshall provides excellent perspective as to what she looks for in students, and what translates into someone who can be successful in the work force.

On this episode, we talk with Emma Alexander from Missouri about her family's history in the agriculture industry. Exploring some of the most exciting and challenging aspects that come along with a family business, we discuss the importance of estate planning and communication between family members. We also talk about how advocating for the industry and staying connected with consumers directly correlates with leadership in agriculture today!

In this episode we talk with Michelle Kunjappu about her experiences in the ag industry as both a photographer and a reporter. Val works on her families farm as a herdsman and manager, while also taking the time to share stories about the dairy industry through her podcast, The Dairy Hour. We explore some of the challenges that come with advocating for agriculture but also touch on how rewarding it can be to share your story and help people learn. Key Factors to Consider When Transitioning Careers

 On this episode, we talk with Kimberly Reckman who is currently a Global Trade Specialist with Bayer Crop Sciences. Growing up on a family farm, Kimberly has experienced agriculture at all different levels from local production to international exports. Exploring some of the challenges that come along with transitioning careers, and switching companies, we talk through some of the factors that are important to consider when making these changes. Stressing the importance of work-life balance, Kimberly talks us through some of the decisions she had to make when transitioning to a new career.

The Importance of Continuing to Learn Within Your Ag Career

On this episode, we talk with Dean Degroff who is currently working for his in-laws crop farm in the thumb of Michigan. With a family rooted in agriculture, Dean found his way to a career in the industry through a passion for his work.
